Solar Eclipse Camping/RV Parking/Day Parking in Warm Springs, Aug. 18-22

Our Nation welcomes visitors to our lands to camp and view the historical August 21st solar eclipse. This will be the first total solar eclipse to be visible in the continental United States since 1979. The Path of Totality crosses directly over majestic Mt. Jefferson and is in full view from Warm Springs. Our community is ranked as one of the #1 viewing sites for this once-in-a-lifetime experience and together we will get to observe a total of 2 minutes 02.3 seconds of darkness.

The Tribe has just released a limited number of camping, RV and day parking sites for visitors who would like to experience this celestial event within the boundaries of the Warm Springs Indian Reservation. This includes camping and RV parking through the weekend, overnight tent and RV parking, and day parking. Click here to make reservations.

Over the weekend, numerous events will be held in the community at the Indian Head Casino and Museum at Warm Springs. Additionally, the Native Sol Eclipse Fest will feature tribal vendors, food, and performances by nationally recognized Native American artists and NASA is hosting several events at the Warm Springs K-8 Academy. Click here for a full listing of local activities.

Visitors will have access to bus transportation to Indian Head Casino and the Museum from the Community Center for a small fee and can also stop off at Oregon Solarfest and Solar Town in Madras. Click here for more information on bus passes and to purchase.

In addition to camping and viewing sites in Warm Springs, there are also a number of areas on the reservation that are open to non-Tribal members through the purchase of a fishing/camping permit including Lower Dry Creek and the High Cascade area including Long Lake, Dark Lake, Island Lake, Boulder Lake and Trout Lake. Currently there are no reservations available for Indian Park during this time period. Click here for maps, additional information and to purchase permits.

Please stayed tuned for any additional updates during this time period on our tourism website or on Facebook. You can also get updates from our local radio station KWSO 91.9 FM.

Thank you again for joining us in Warm Springs for this historic celestial experience. “An ílawaashk’ishita” ~ The sun will be shadowed.
